The World Cup 2006 - Your Success!

With the “Stop Forced Prostitution” campaign FIM found a new approach in the work against forced prostitution: for the first time you as man as well as john are directly addressed. And this is first and foremost from men who have engaged themselves for the victims of exploitation and coercion in prostitution.

Who was involved in the campaign?

Men and women, around 700 people from 140 organisations, were active in 46 cities all over Germany during the World Cup 2006.

How much information was received?

By the end of 2006 FIM received information from all over Germany about 59 women who were in situations of exploitation and coercion in prostitution. The hints came through the FIM telephone and e-mail hotlines - operated by men. Experts consider this as a great success.

Yes!
Contact was established with the majority of women, they received counselling, and police investigation could begin. In six cases the police was able to release women directly from their plight. Every woman who was able to escape is a success!
